Kayleigh (b. 1992, Naarm/Melbourne) is a multidisciplinary artist whose evolving practice explores the interconnectedness of the human and more-than-human worlds. With a first-class honors degree in Interactive Arts from the Manchester School of Art and Design (2014), her work merges phenomenology with ecological inquiry, examining both the degradation and possibility for renewal in our landscapes.
Currently pursuing a Master's in Art Therapy at MIECAT, Kayleigh's practice is beginning to blend her artistic and therapeutic practices for deeper explorations. Her painting, ceramics and sound explorations exist in a state of metamorphosis pendulating between abstraction and landscape, where her use of texture, tension and mark-making are conduits for deep listening and slow looking; reflecting on our impact and interconnectedness with the world
Kayleigh is passionate about sound as an artform for connection and renewal. She facilitates and curates her ongoing project ‘Emergent Sound for Resonant Bodies’, which engages restorative listening practices and experimental emergent improvised soundscapes for rest, creativity, exploration and wellbeing. This project sits and the crossroads between all of her interests: ecology, connection, community engagement and accessibility, rest, exploration and play.
Kayleigh is also a passionate ceramics teacher, working with adults and teenagers from beginner to intermediate level to explore clay and form in an encouraging and engaging environment.
